Starting from the phenomena of great success of Chinese villas in the field of real estate and architectural design in todays China, combining with the successful examples of residential buildings and public buildings in Chinese architecture, this paper discusses the formation of Chinese architectural style, the generality, characteristics and future development trend of Chinese architectural style.
Chinese Architectural Style and European Traditional Architectural Culture Identify Space Form Art Form
Architect Pei Yiming once said, "The most urgent task for Chinese architects is to explore a form of architecture, which is not only within our limited resources, but also to respect our own culture." The most important task of Chinese architects is to find an architectural form that can not only express Chinese culture, but also adapt to new technology.
There are three key points in Peis words: architectural form - economic basis - cultural identity. "Material resources to reach" means that the economic foundation can be supported, and "own culture" means the identification of local culture. China has become the worlds second largest economy, which undoubtedly provides a strong economic basis for Chinese cultural self-confidence and identity. As a result, the development of modern Chinese architectural style has come to fruition.
Overview of the development of Chinese-style villas in recent years:
Chinese-style houses, especially Chinese-style villas, rose around 2004. At that time, the emergence of modern and classical Chinese villas, represented by Nine Halls, Tsinghua Square, Guantang and Yosemite, had a great impact on the market of villas with European and American styles as the mainstream. Then Chinese architecture flourished in Chinese cities. Our Institute also has a relatively in-depth study in the field of Chinese-style housing, such as Beijing Youshan Meidi, which was made in 2004, and then Taian East Zunyoushan Meidi, Hebi Qilin Town, Wuhan Baoan Shanshui Longcheng, and Linyi Hainaxi Garden Ecological Residential District have aroused great concern in the local area. Chinese-style projects have entered the second-tier and third-tier cities.
Although the design level of each project is uneven this year, it shows that cultural return and identity have become a trend in residential culture. When people get rid of the impetuosity of just getting rich and settle down to look for signs that can represent their identity, it is an inevitable trend to return to their own culture.
In recent years we have seen many other similar phenomena. People begin to pay attention to products with Chinese characteristics, from daily necessities such as diet, living, furniture, automobiles, to cultural consumer goods such as culture, drama, film, TV series, etc., people want to see more products in line with Chinese culture. The more young people choose Qixi Festival as their own Valentines Day. Traditional festivals such as Qingming, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival have been paid more and more attention. From the various phenomena in these societies, we can easily see the deep-seated economic and cultural revival behind them. All these indicate that Chinese architecture will become the mainstream of architectural design.
  Formation of Chinese Style:
Architecture is the container that carries peoples daily life. It is closely related to peoples daily life. Architectural image directly decides the overall style of the city. It is the most obvious expression of a nations cultural aesthetic interest, and also the most direct reflection of a nations collective potential unconsciousness. As a result, architectural culture takes the lead in the development of various cultures, reflecting the cultural characteristics of a country and a region.
Nowadays, Chinese architecture is not only popular in residential buildings, but also in public buildings springing up in various cities. Especially some important cultural buildings bearing historical responsibilities, such as Suzhou Museum, Zhejiang Art Museum, Diaoyutai State Guest House, Lu Xun Memorial Hall, etc., all have made the absolute beauty of Chinese architecture. Of course, when it comes to Chinese architecture, we will not forget the Xiangshan Hotel made by Mr. Pei in his early years. It is self-evident that it enlightens Chinese architecture.
  Common Chinese Style:
When we talk about style, lets first understand what style is.
What is style? As we all know, it must have three basic conditions.
First, it must have a relatively stable architectural form language. That is the so-called commonness.
Secondly, it must have an obvious distinction from his style, that is, the so-called characteristics.
Thirdly, there should be a relatively stable period of concentrated performance of this style of works.
The third condition has already been met. Lets not dwell on it any more. Next, lets talk about the common features of Chinese style.
From these examples, we can see that the characteristics of these Chinese buildings are different, some are more classical, some are more modern, and some have traces of local architecture, such as Lingnan architecture, the shadow of Hui architecture seems to be everywhere. But Chinese themes are very obvious. To sum up, there are the following main characteristics:
Firstly, more attention should be paid to group space than to individual, and more use of courtyards, semi-enclosed space to organize individual. And the grey space of classical China has been further developed.
Second: Pay attention to the surrounding environment, the perfect combination of man and nature, and apply the unique Chinese garden system to the architectural group.
Thirdly, the color is mostly grey and white, with white walls, grey tiles and green windows. Besides the simplicity and elegance, it also shows the restrained cultural character of the Chinese people.
Fourth: Pursuing artistic conception is better than situation, paying more attention to peoples psychological feelings, highlighting the charm of Oriental unique culture. Modernizing Chinese language.
